Ticket for Vanley Burke: Making an Archive Making History talk

As some of you will know, I am continuing to develop as a professional photographer, most recently photographing an event in London for My Home Life, an innovative Social Care movement on a mission to improve quality of life in Care Homes.

It was in this capacity that I recently attended a talk at the new Library of Birmingham by renowned photographer and documenter Vanley Burke. Vanley spoke about his approach to archiving and what motivates him to preserve and document culture. I found Vanley to be a friendly and engaging speaker and his talk made me think about how we should take charge of our own histories in an increasingly digital world.

You can read more about Vanley’s talk and the opportunities and challenges of preserving and documenting digital culture over on Francis Clarke Photography.
