As some of you will know, I am continuing to develop as a professional photographer, most recently photographing an event in London for My Home Life, an innovative Social Care movement on a mission to improve quality of life in Care Homes.
It was in this capacity that I recently attended a talk at the new Library of Birmingham by renowned photographer and documenter Vanley Burke. Vanley spoke about his approach to archiving and what motivates him to preserve and document culture. I found Vanley to be a friendly and engaging speaker and his talk made me think about how we should take charge of our own histories in an increasingly digital world.
